We are interested in finding out how many prisons are in use in the United States, but I am having trouble locating this statistic anywhere. I would appreciate any help I could get. Thanks a million!

Thank you so much for your reply!!! I was actually referring to the capacity rate of the facililty. For instance, number of empty beds divided by the number of beds in the facility.
