If you have can I get you to break It down in a language that a layman can understand or an RSO can...... I've been out on parole for 11 months now,no job and no chance of getting one anytime soon...

  • Re: Motivating Ex-Offenders for Employment

I guess I can agree with the jest of your comment , that of facing reality and accept any job you can for survival . I have done that for over 20 years now and I have had zero recidivism . So I am not making excusses as you have seemed to make that your focal point . The fact is what is being done is...

I am in Michigan and just found out Wednesday night that the guy I hired Wednesday morning is on our Sex Offender's list. After much thought and after speaking with him about this I have decided to keep him employed. One of my concerns, is what, as an employer, am I required to disclose to my clients...

  • Creating an Employment prep and retention program for SOs

In Albany NY, we are starting to develop curricula around employment and retention training for people who have been convicted of sex offenses. This is a collaborative effort between several county probation departments, NYSDOL, NYSDPCA, and our local CSOM, as well as a service provider. This obviously...

  • Re: Sex Offender Employment

Just wanted to post a few comments to the thread. I started this thread because persons with SO status have been some of the toughest people to place into postions, especially in my role as an advocate to these job seekers. I spend a lot of time building up relationships with employers to facilitate...

  • Re: Sex Offender Employment

I am a sex offender on parole in California. Employment has been very difficult to find because of my SO status and because my extensive work experience in corporate marketing for Fortune 100 companies scares small employers away. And the larger employers pretty much refuse to hire a felon, much less...
