  • Re: In need of Facilitator Training!

Brenda, Here is an update on Thinking for a Change training that NIC is providing via technical assistance in the coming months.  I do not know all the details but you can contact the NIC staff managing the TA and they can assist or redirect you to the host agency for the event.  In all cases, there may or may not be slots available for ...
  • Re: Thinking for a Change Training

Paul,  Dallas County Probation  has been a big and successful user of the T4C program.  Both of my contacts from that agency have moved on to different jobs in different states, so I can not give you a current lead on whom to contact, but, I am sure if you call their offices in Dallas someone can direct you to the correct ...

  • Re: Thinking for a change in .ppt format

Greetings!  Just to add a bit to Leslie's response from NIC.  FYI in the newly revised version of T4C (still in draft/edit form and not ready for prime time) all of the visuals are developed in Powerpoint and in color and will be readily available for facilitator use. While NIC is not ready to announce the availability of the new ...
  • Re: Research

Just a quick update on the status of the Thinking for a Change program revision.  As you know,  NIC is currently working with the T4C authors on a "new and improved" version of the T4C program. The "draft" rewrite is completed and we are working on edits.  This is a timely process.  Unfortunately, with ...
  • Re: How to Develop Effective Performance Objectives: NIC e-Learning ProgramHow to Develop Effective Performance Objectives: NIC e-Learning Program

If you are in the NIC Learning Center, please use the "Help/Support" button to get an instructor to try and troubleshoot your issue.  They are there 24/7.  I just loaded the course from my computer so I think everything is working in the Center related to this course. If you are trying to open the course from a CD, you may be ...

  • Re: Welcome to the T4C Forum - Read Me First

Am not aware of any formal evaluations that have specifically targeted juveniles. There is a quality study coming out conducted by the University of Cincinnati on T4C with probationers in Indiana. Juveniles may have been part of that.  NIC will post the evaluation when is available for public consumption.  The raw data I previously saw ...
  • Re: T4C Online?

Greetings!  I am unaware of any current virtual online application of the T4C program with offenders.  While I believe there is potential to consider the program for a virtual online strategy, there would have to be significant modification in some of the group processes utilized in T4C to make this feasible.  FYI, however, NIC is ...
  • Re: Video clips for T4C

The video clips that support the Thinking for a Change program are available "free of charge" from the NIC Information Center.  The clips come as part of a 3-DVD collection that was produced from the T4C satellite/Internet broadcast back in 2002.  The clips can be found on the third DVD. To request a copy of these DVDs, just ...
  • Re: T4C Online?

Loree, Happy New Year!  You raise a great question.  Currently, NIC has delivered the T4C facilator training and the T4C train the trainers training in traditional classroom formats.  In 2002, we conducted a large distance learning satellite-Internet faciltator training.  This event consisted of ...
