    Our P & P does not specifically address lightning.  it is phrased in more general terms.  here is the applicable segment: "Outdoor recreation may be shortened or canceled due to bad weather, security overrides, or other operational needs. The one hour recreation periods are not limited to consecutive days."

    Good morning,   I just sent a complete copy of our P & P book to the N.I.C. information center.  We have a fairly comprehensive policy.  Also, our training officers instruct on strip searches during the seven week O.J.T. phase after completion of the accademy.

    We do not do anual training on P & P.    We have a computerized daily briefing document tnat all staff members are required to read.  All P & P changes are posted in this docuemnt for at least 7 days.  We also do 20 minute training at shift briefings.  Major changes are covered in this training in ...

    Our basic academy is 7 weeks (classroom and physical training).  After that the new officers spend another 6 weeks with a training officer.

    The law here in Arizona requires us to provide a safe and secure environment for all inmates, including those with mental illnesses.  Aside from that it leaves the exact means of providing that environment up to the individual facility.  No specific requirement for a padded cell exists.     Due to our proximity to the border, we test every inmate that is held for more than four days.  Any inmate that is symptomatic, or admits to having TB upon intake is immediately masked and placed into one of the respiratory isolation rooms in our infirmary pending further testing and treatment (if required).
