FTO's get a FTO pin.... and a 8 hours training course which counts toward the required training to be promoted....   I will have to say it is interesting that there are some incentives in other places that would and could improve our states program...

Arkansas Department of Corrections 1. All uniformed staff have to qualify each year... Mini 14, Revolver, shotgun... .40 Glock for the Emergency Response Team 2. We have 2 "cages" in our isolation intake.  They are used during the process of inventorying property and processing in the inmates.  Isolation is used for many reasons.  Protective custody, Administrative or punitive custody.  While in the "cage" they inmates are cuffed and seated.    

We work 12 hours shifts and during the shift there is a rotation after 6 hours.  This is so the same Officer isn't on a post for the entire shift.  What I like is the rotation we are on gives us every other weekend off and its for 3 days...
