I was wondering what other facility's provide for annual training, besides the required annual re-certs such as PPCT/CPR, etc. I am wanting to provide something to add a little excitement for our officers besides the same old stuff. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

In addition to mandatory: Def Tactics, CPR, we also have Officer ethics, Report writing, security basics, fire training, blood borne pathogens, suicide awareness, PREA, hostage situations...we usually have 20+ hours a year in annual training. We add and lose classes each year that are not mandatory-try to keep a variety.

Lock-up USA has decent two part video for this. The footage is dated but the information is good. The videos are Principles of Suicide Prevention (27minutes 30 seconds) and Suicide Prevention (37 minutes and 13 seconds). You can view and purchase them on line at Lock-Upusa.com
