In Albany NY, we are starting to develop curricula around employment and retention training for people who have been convicted of sex offenses. This is a collaborative effort between several county probation departments, NYSDOL, NYSDPCA, and our local CSOM, as well as a service provider. This obviously is a daunting task, and we want to be very comprehensive and safe. Albany County Probation Departments Employment Services Units mission is, to create safer communities and reduce offender recidivism by helping individuals who are under probation supervision to enter and remainin the workforce. We want to meet this mission in providing a good employment preparation program, and find suitable and safe employment for people convicted of these types of offenses. At this point we are in the development phase and ANY help within this area would be greatly appreciated.
