My wife moved in with a man on probation in the state of North Carolina. Our ten yr old lives with me and our two yr old lives with her. On several occasions my ten yr old has witnessed several objects of drug paraphernalia, consuming illegal drugs, a handgun has been fired in the near vicinity of our ten yr old. while this man was consuming alcoholic beverages. He has violated his probation several times by failing a drug test. Why does the state of NC allow a man on probation to use his probation to continue his illegal activities? His probation officer is aware of this and has done virtually nothing about this. She says "It is my job to keep out of jail, and I am going to do everything possible to keep him from going there." I cannot allow my children to be around this imminent threat as something is certain to happen with this kind of conduct going on. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

You should definitely go to the Probation officer's supervisor, because that answer she gave is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!  There is no reason why your son should have to witness all of the illegal activity. You are doing your part, but it seems like your wife and the PO aren't. Dont stop until you get a answer because that PO's mentality is all wrong!!!
