I recently logged on and had 81 posts not read.  Actually, I receive these posts as they are posted via my work email address.  There should be a way to have a "check box" in front of the posts not read to delete those that have already been read via email. 

 I had to individually click on each post not read in order to delete all 81 posts.

I think that's a great suggestion and you are not the only one to have suggested it.  I will add this to our list of features to work on.  I don't know yet if it is possible or what it would take to do it, but since it's on my list, I'll do some research and keep you posted via this thread.

I found out from the maker of the software for this site that this is a planned feature for the next version (due mid-summer).  However, I have something else that you might be interested in, and it might make things even easier for you.

I am testing a new feature called "My Stuff" you will see a link to this page in the main menu bar.  This page lets you add sections of this web site and other web sites to your "My Stuff" so that you can quickly and easily monitor what's new.  Stuff that you have not read shows up in bold.  Stuff that you have looked at (not necessarily opened in a new page) gets dimmed.  It works a lot like an email inbox.

I created a video that shows how to add things to your "My Stuff" page.  I would love it if you could test it out and let me know what you think.

Hey!  This is pretty cool!  I am assuming that new posts will go directly into My Stuff from each forum that I put in My Stuff?

Also, once you have read a post in My Stuff and want to delete it, how can you do that?

They don't technically "go" there.  The "My Stuff" page just creates references that link to where the post is locates.  Kind of like a headlines ticker.  But, yes, the "My Stuff" page will always display the most recent posts for whatever you add to the page--forums, blogs, other web site, etc.

Also, once you have read a post in My Stuff and want to delete it, how can you do that?

Since the page always checks for the newest items, they will always be displayed.  They can't be deleted.  Hover, unlike the other "Posts Not Read" page, posts that you have at least click on the headline are no longer displayed as bold, and the system will remember this so that the next time you look at the page, you will be able to tell which ones you have already looked at.  Should be a little faster.
