I am also a member of the Community Corrections Form, which is obviously available to the public. Between yesterday afternoon and a few minutes ago (it is 11:45 AM in Orlando) I received 20 e-mails, of which 17 were a conversation between someone considering employment in Probation and Parole in Missouri and someone working in that department. While I think that is valuable, I don't think it is very interesting to most of the practitioners out there.

Is there a private form for Community Corrections, like the LJN forum? If not, I think there should be. I am going to un-subscribe to the public Community Corrections forum, because the overwhelming majority of the postings seem to be from people looking for work, and I don't have the time to look through 20 or more message daily, to see if there is anything meaningful for the field stuck in there amongst all the job seekers.

Just a suggestion, but the private LJN forum really seems to be much, much more valuable.

He has remorse since he has grown up and I am sure how I can help him. Please someone tell me what to do to help this young man. He is a model prisoner and works very hard and has read every book he can.

Many have the perception that their efforts won’t make much difference. You CAN make a difference.
When you browse to Practical Safety And Education Solutions at psaes.info, you will see dozens of ways to make a difference. You will see how, for example, to prevent child sex abuse and what to do when this unfortunate incident affects your family. Even if you aren’t a present victim of crime, learn how to greatly lower crime rates and prevent crime re-offenses.
When you reach the website, link to Practical Safety Solutions and/or Help For Child Sex Abuse to download at no cost, if you desire. The concepts presented in these writings are based on years of experience and study, and are proven effective. Most everyone would emphatically say, NO! We as taxpayers and families must insist that these men and women be treated with proven-effective rehabilitation before being released to our communities.
The key phrase above is “proven-effective”. We cannot continue to release these folks with minimal rehab classes, if they get any at all. These folks need to demonstrate needed changes in their thinking and behavior before they are released. Review the summary of Practical Safety Solutions at www.psaes.info. These proven concepts are offered free for downloading, along with other manuals related to overcoming addictions and unwanted behavior patterns.

There are incorrect PDF links on the pages for other editions too. For example; http://www.nicic.org/Library/020631
