Trying to place an order

To whom it my concern, I don’t know who to turn to for help. I have taught IPC since 2001. I just moved to a new office and I cannot find my IPC video disk. For the last four days I have tried to order the disk on line but every time I try to checkout I get this message, “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.” Also every phone number I call gives a busy signal. Errors and Problems

Not only can you not get to the order form for the aforementioned library item, you also can't get to the help desk- both produce "error: page not found" messages. Is there a human type person that one could contact?

CONTACT INFORMATION ON POSTS

I would like to make a recommendation for all posts, no matter what forum you subscribe to in the Corrections Community:

When writing a post and sending it to the Corrections Forum, if the member has set up a signature block with their name, agency address, phone number, and email address, it appears on the post. However, when receiving the post via email, none of this information appears.

I would like to recommend that all members are required to enter their contact information and that their information appear in the post. This would cut down on all the extra posts we have to send to get the contact information on the individual.

Community Corrections Forum

I am a member of the Large Jail Network forum, which is restricted to members, almost all of whom are practitioners, and the few others that post or respond appear to be academics working criminal justice. It is very valuable and I try to read all the posts, and if I see a topic come up that we are involved in and our "take" hasn't already been addressed, I respond to it.

I am also a member of the Community Corrections Form, which is obviously available to the public. Between yesterday afternoon and a few minutes ago (it is 11:45 AM in Orlando) I received 20 e-mails, of which 17 were a conversation between someone considering employment in Probation and Parole in Missouri and someone working in that department. While I think that is valuable, I don't think it is very interesting to most of the practitioners out there.

Is there a private form for Community Corrections, like the LJN forum? If not, I think there should be. I am going to un-subscribe to the public Community Corrections forum, because the overwhelming majority of the postings seem to be from people looking for work, and I don't have the time to look through 20 or more message daily, to see if there is anything meaningful for the field stuck in there amongst all the job seekers.

Just a suggestion, but the private LJN forum really seems to be much, much more valuable.

I worked for a year and a half at MWPPTF (2100 all male ) and have worked at a County Jail for over a year and a half, I was interested in the women offenders coarse but found since I only take care of these people and am not clergy, visitor,volunteer or admin, I am not allowed to take this..DUH ??????

Juvenile Needs Help serving LWOP in Mississippi

I have a young man who desperately needs help and advice. He was 13 when he was sentenced and he is now 27. He has no hope of getting out. He committed a crime in the heat of passion at such a young age. He never stood a chance and he has served his time according to what some offenders recieve in the state of Mississippi. He needs help and has grown up behind the bars of prison sytem. He has remorse since he has grown up and I am sure how I can help him. Please someone tell me what to do to help this young man. He is a model prisoner and works very hard and has read every book he can. Doesn't he deserve another chance of life? He is very scared, alone, and lost hope. Someone, somewhere, somehow can help get this young man the freedom he needs and deserves.

It is not appropriate to display an image of the Supreme Court on the NIC home page. USDOJ, BOP and NIC are part of the Executive -- not the Courts. An image of the Supreme Court is wrong.

Felons As Neighbors

Would you be comfortable with sex offenders and other felons released from prison as neighbors? Most everyone would emphatically say, NO!
