I've been asked to check and see if anyone has any kind of incentives for FTO's. Anything would be appreciated.

Our FTO's receive an additional $1.00 an hour while they are assigned a trainee.  In addition, I allow them up to 1 hour of overtime a day.  The overtime is used to prepare the day's activities or to complete the daily observation reports.

We pay our FTOs 10% differential pay when actively training a recruit.  Additionally, they are entitled to 30 minutes of overtime pay to complete their Daily Observation Report (DOR) each day they are training.  Each FTO when they graduate from the Training the Trainer Course for FTOs, receives a FTO Pin to wear on their uniform, access to checkout a laptop computer, forms holder, and Performance Appraisal Manual.

My facility pays corrections deputies assigned as FTO's an additional $120 per month. This premium is paid whether or not they are actively training.

I work in a county jail of 60 Officers and over 200 inmates.  Our FTO's receive an additional $.50 per hour for every hour they are actually training someone.  In addition our FTO's wear a metal ribbon on their uniform which signifies their status.

    Hope this helps you

We give our FTO's certificates, patches to wear on their shoulder that reads "FIELD TRAINING OFFICER", we allow them to have first choice at attending training outside of the agency and being a FTO counts as promotion points. Morris

    FTO's get a FTO pin....

and a 8 hours training course which counts toward the required training to be promoted....

I will have to say it is interesting that there are some incentives in other places that would and could improve our states program...

In addition to the 2 hrs overtime for every 8 hrs they have a trainee, our JTO;s also get "Jail Training Officer" embroidered on their uniform shirts.

Our  agency pays our FTO's award incentives. The FTO is entitled to $600.00 as long as they complete a minimum of 14 D.O.R.'s It does not matter how many they complete total as long as the minimum is completed. They also are entitled to 8.6 hours of overtime pay per pay period (2 wks).

For every 28 D.O.R's that are completed they also receive an award certificate worth .25 of a point. This can be used  towards our promotional process and is added on to their score at the very end of the process.

The facility I worked at gave FTO's a uniform pin and certificate.  These may not seem like much, but putting the pin on your uniform everyday meant alot.

At my facility FTO's are Cpl.'s and are issued pins. We also supervise and provide continuing education to the staff while updating our module book on an ongoing process. Cpl. LaPointe CCDOC

I am doing research on incentives of FTO's. I am trying to put together a proposal that would allow FTO's both road deputies and detention officers to receive an incentive. Does anyone have any ideas or helpful input would be appreciated.

Our Jail Training Officers get 2 hrs of overtime for every 8 hours they are assigned a trainee.  They also where the standard issued uniform shirt, but on the sleeves it is embroidered with Jail Training Officer.
