I am an exoffender who served over 27 years in prison for crimes ranging from auto theft to armed bank robbery. I served over 6 years at the federal supermax ADX in Florence Colorado. My time was served under the alias David Michael Bauer.Federal BOP # 85501-071. I served time in Florida under the name David Michael Ferrinti # 071024 and in New Mexico as David Bauer #44876. I began serving time in Florida in 1979 and was released in 1988. I returned to prison in 1989 for Armed bank robbery. I was released in 1993 and returned for armed robbery in New Mexico in 1994. I was last released on July 25, 2008. I am currently on parole. I am enrolled full time as a student at Central New Mexico Community College and I am working 31 hours a week for a local retailer. I am in the process of developing a web site specifically focused on recidivism and the regressive nature of our national incarceration philosophy. I have letters of recommendation from a number of individuals currently employed within state and federal facilities, specifically related to various conventional and nonconventional cognitive thinking programs. These individuals, to include Gail Oliver, the Director of a newly created Corrections office in New Mexico, have relied upon my input over the past several years, as I worked my way through a self-initiated rehabilitation program that focuses on education as well as participation in positive character building programs.I am active in community service here at CNM at the School for Adult Continuing Education (SAGE) as well as the Center for Working Families (CWF) I am an A student with perfect attendance. I found this site as I was (am) researching for an English 101 essay on Recidivism. My site is tentitively titled " Notes From An Ex-Convict: Inside & Out. I will be taking readers inside of prisons to see exactly how and why character regression occurs. I will also take the reader out into the " Free World " to show them the various obstacles that often deter new releases. I am very interested in becoming active in any positive, constructive, efforts toward prison reform. I can also be reached at my e-mail address at CNM. ( pmccoombs@cnm.edu) I look forward to meeting positive, intelligent people who are motivated to affect changes in a flawed philosophy. Rehabilitation, under the circumstances, in the right environment, can work. Thank You!!
