Corrections Community

I would like to use the NIC curriculum, Thinking for a Change, with community corrections clients in a problem solving court. These clients have mental illness and substance abuse disorders. Has this curriculum been normed or adapted for this population? Thank you.

Our agency uses this curriculum in our in-prison TCs. But we also use in our community-based substance abuse treatment programs for the offender population.  They love it!  Just make the role-plays appropriate to the setting:  i.e. rather than use officers in a prison, change to parole officer or court services officer.
