Is it possible to record this training via the internet/computer or can that only be done with the satellite broadcast?

It is possible, but not recommended.  There are tools that allow you to capture live Internet video and NIC does not prohibit or restrict doing so in any way. However, we do not provide any technical support for doing so.

Your best option may be to request a copy of the DVD which is typically available shortly after the broadcast.  It can be order, free of charge, from the NIC online help desk. Here is the link: http://nicic.org/HelpDesk

Is this DVD available only after I complete the class? 

My problem is that I registered for the class last week and just found out yesterday that I have a interview for a Sergeant position on 1-31-08.  In order to attend this interview I will need to travel out of town.  Therefore I will miss the training on both 1-30-08 and 1-31-08.  I am the only person in my agency that will be viewing the class and I was really looking forward to the information/training offered.  However, it is also very important that I attend this interview.  Consequently I was hoping that if it could be recorded, or in the event that a DVD is available, I will be able to do both.  Please advise...

The DVD is for those who missed the live event.  However, only by participating in the live event can you get CEU credits for the training (if that is relevant to you)

I should also not that this is not an individual training program.  It is designed to be done in groups of at least 6 people--live or with the DVD.

Thank you for your reply.  I do understand that this training is designed for larger groups, but, unfortunately, I am unable, at this time, to incorporate other individuals.  I was hoping that I would be able gain some good information and learning from the lectures despite not having the ability to interact with others for the exercises/scenarios.

The training is almost entirely interactive (role playing, some ask questions, some answer questions, etc) which is why a group is needed.  I don't know that there would be much you could get out of it by yourself, but regardless, you are welcome to order the DVD.
