Has anyone pulled (or heard of) Reese's PB cups from the Commissary/Canteen list based on info that the brown wrapper is toxic and/or an intoxicant when smoked? Thanks in advance for your response.

    Dear Sir,

Spoke with our Comissary Personnel concerning this. Thankfully, she said we do not offer the Reese's Cup on our facility. She was not aware of this information. So we thank you for useful information.

Blair can you provide a source for your information?  What chemicals make it toxic?

I'm not sure if this is an "urban legend", but I'm pretty sure that smoking almost anything is toxic!  I actually contacted the Hershey Company for a response to the original posting. (In no small part, because this is my favorite candy.) Their reply was, "I am sorry, we have no statement for you."

Sorry for taking so long to reply, I was off for a bit.

The information came from a guest instructor at one of our local academies (via an FTO who was attending a class there).  I was unable to verify where his information came from, which is why I put it out on the forum to see if any one else had heard this. I was less concerned with the toxic part of it (I agree with Ms Schilling) as I was with the intoxicant. It would only take one if it was toxic. I must say that was an interesting response , or non response, from "the company" though. Thank you for your responses. It's one of my favorites as well.
