Is there a national standard for alphanumeric coding of inmate (prisoner) incidents?  Something like a base 10 two-digit numerical code that bins incidents so codes 10-19 signify something like violent act against another prisoner, codes 20-29 indicate act against a facility employee, etc...

I am trying to locate both the coding schema and reference document to ensure our work is as consistent as possible with what I believe is a National Standard though I cannot locate that standard.

    Thanks,

    Mike Scheiern

    Michael,

Good day to you! At our facility we have codes we go by that catergorize the incident, it's severity etc. When an Inmate has an infraction, we write a misconduct on that individual, they have a disciplinary hearing which may result in the Inmate losing their level or maybe have to do extra work, given the severity of the incident, the Inmate may be locked up or transferred to another facility. I have this in my briefcase at home. I will see if I can get a copy to you one way, shape or form.
