Wisconsin has caps that are established by the state legeslature. It is more for a determination for agent compensation, authorization of overtime, and for postion allocation to work areas and for justifyiing new postions to maintain a desireable staff to offender ratio. It really has no teeth to control or manage the true case or work load of the agent but does set some standards. Caseloads are determined by points established for the variety of offender classifications, which are based on an Objective risk aand needs assessments. ie; 2 caseloads points for each max offender supervised, 1 for mediums, etc
