Corrections Community

Do you know of a company that offers Corrections related training videos? I am needing Corrections related preferably interactive training videos available to teach line staff as a form of supplimental training. I am looking for a series of 1 or 2 hour training videos. If you have any knowledge of companies who sale corrections training videos or you have some that your agency have developed, that you can share, please let me know.

Okay, I know I'll take some heat on this one but I have to throw in my 2 cents.  First let me say that I fully support different methods to reinforce training and think that the use of technology can be a great option to classroom training.  However, and this is where I may ruffle a few feathers, a video is not training.  A video is merely a form of input that replaces lecture and using lecture as the only form of input is a waste of time for the majority of adult learners.  If however, you use short video components (vignettes) along with a small group activity, then a higher level of learning will occur.

Lock Up USA has a series of Corrections videos.  They come with an instructor guide and list discussion questions.  Some are old, but not bad.  They have a website at http://www.lockupusa.com/ where you can learn more and can contact them if you choose.

The company we use is called Lockup USA.  They have a very diverse selection of videos.

 Lockup USA are decent videos for newer officers.  Also, In the Line of Duty has some outstanding videos.

We have the Lock-Up USA Tapes, as well as Command & Control (made by Magnetic North) Videos and E-Learning.  The videos also come with a work book and tests.  I see these have already made it to the postings.  Other sources for videos, learning materials (besides the National Institute of Corrections :), is the National Sheriff's Association, ACA, AJA.
