I'm not certain if this is a proper posting, but I have attempted to find out.  We have several master's and doctorate level positions available for clinicians to work in the Wyoming Department of Corrections.  If you are intested, please contact Laura McKinnon at mckinnon2@msn.com.  We are looking for a Regional Director of Mental Health as well as 2 other doctorate level psychologists.  We have 3 master's level therapist positions.

    Thanks,

    Laura

    Laura,

I'm working on an MA in Clinical Counseling - what type of requirements do you require at the Masters's level in Wyoming?

Is there any chance of hiring an Intern? This would allow the intern to obtain their required 1000 hours, plus it might assist you in providing service to the offenders under the supervision of a licensed psychologist/counselor.

    Thank you,

    Gary Jones

I think that would be a great idea, however Wyoming has very strict requirements.  Several years ago an inmate committed suicide and the courts came into the picture.  They require all mental health professionals to be licensed with the exception of our 2 psych techs.  We are frequently looking for licensed master's and doctorate level clinicians to fill the required positions.  When you are eligible for licensing, at the intern or professional level, please let me know.  We would love to talk to you.

     Thanks,

    Laura

This is just to update. I currently have one full time Master's Level position open in Lusk, Wy. The requirement is that you have to be licensed as a LCSW, LPC or CPP in the state.
