After this unit of instruction, the student will be able to define gender responsiveness and will be able to identify the characteristics and issues that revolve around women offenders. Topics on “gender-responsive strategies” will include, specific programs that are beneficial to women offenders, legal considerations regarding women offenders and equal treatment vs. differential needs.
