Two New NIC e-Learning Courses Now Available

Two new web-based training courses are now accessible through the NIC Learning CenterEmergency Preparedness and Response enables supervisors and managers in correctional institutions to evaluate their degree of readiness and preparation for a large-scale crisis or emergency.  Working Effectively with Women Offenders describes typical characteristics of women offenders and the barriers they face when making the transition from incarceration to life on the outside.

The National Institute of Corrections provides approximately 150 web-based training programs within its Professional Skill Development Library and Custom e-Learning Courses.  Self-paced and easily accessible, the courses provide professional development opportunities to corrections professionals working in jails, prisons, and community corrections agencies.  Registration for all courses must be approved by your supervisor.
