Registration Open For "Sharing Gang Intelligence" Broadcast

On June 25, 2008, the National Institute of Corrections will host a live 3-hour satellite/Internet broadcast to address sharing gang intelligence among corrections, law enforcement, and education professionals. A diverse panel of experts will address various processes, methods, technologies, partnerships, and information sharing programs related to gangs and their potential networks of intelligence. This broadcast will be of interest to police, corrections, military, and criminal justice educational agencies.

News & Updates for the Jan. 29-31 Broadcast of "Public and Media Relations: Take Control of Your Message"

The following announcements relate only those who have registered for the upcoming "Public and Media Relations: Take Control of Your Message" broadcast.

This is a hands-on & interactive skill building training program for those wanting to develop their skill when dealing with the media and/or general public. The interaction required during the program means each site should have at least 6 participants in order to get the full value of this training.
We will send each registered site a DVD titled "Public and Media Relations: Gaining Confidence and Competence." Watching this video prior to the broadcast is mandatory for each facilitator and participant. If you do not receive your DVD or would like to vew the video online, use the following links:

We will also send each registered site a camera-ready copy of the Participant Manual. Please make copies for each of your sites. This document can also be downloaded immediately here.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed or have some questions? We will have web-based training for all site coordinators to review the agenda, the participant manual and all activities. To participate, you will need to:

Wednesday is the big day so make sure you take a few minutes to make sure:

Your equipment is setup and ready
You have checked for any recent updates
You have downloaded the Site Coordinator's Guide (if you are hosting for a group)
Your Internet connection is working and configured for the broadcast. (test it here)

Some things to note:

There will NOT be a Faclitator and Participant Guide for this broadcast
This is a live broadcast. You will not see the program until the start time but you will see a test signal until the program starts
Make sure you are planning for the correct time zone. The program starts at 10 AM Mountain Time. What time is that where you live?
