More PREA Standards Released For Comment

The National Prison Rape Elimination Commission has released draft standards for lockups, community corrections, and juvenile facilities, which are available at www.nprec.us for public comment from June 16th through August 1st. The first set of draft standards, addressing adult prisons and jails, and supplemental standards for facilities that hold immigration detainees, will continue to be available for comment through July 7th.

Attorney General Standards on Prison Rape

Within 1 year of the delivery of the report of the National Prison Rape Elimination Commission, the U.S. Attorney General is directed to issue a final rule adopting national standards related to the detection, prevention, reduction, and punishment of prison rape.
