Summary
NIC will conduct a DACUM (job task analysis) to provide input regarding the tasks, knowledge, and skills required to perform the work of an Employment Retention Specialist.
The Transition and Offender Workforce Development Division of the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) seeks to contribute to the advancement and shaping of effective policy and practice in the provision of employment retention services for those identified as having barriers to sustained employment.
The program model and subsequent curriculum for use in training Employment Retention Specialist will apply the cognitive-behavioral model of relapse prevention to job loss, where individual precursors are identified and strategies taught to decrease the likelihood of job loss.
