It has been my experience that most of the smaller communities in our state of Arizona have no programs for ex-offenders re-entering the community. It is true that of the major programs most are in the Phoenix and Tucson area. I am President of the Community Reintegration Coalition in Phoenix a non-profit association that has brought together some of these service providers to work on the solution. I also am CEO of a re-entry program that focuses on employment and housing. TEaMS (Transitions Employment and Mentoring Services) has services around 245 clients this year. The two other major programs in the area, AWEE and My Brothers Keeper have served about the same. With over 1600 prisoners being released by The Arizona Department of Corrections yearly it is almost impossible to keep up. What is needed is a model that smaller agencies and grass roots organizations can use to develop smaller programs in varied communities. www.azcrc.com  www.teamsaz.org
