Why is there so little on this site about re-employment and employment assistance for ex-offenders at re-entry time?

Re-enployment and vocational/career counseling soon after release should be the number one issue.

Hi Al -

The National Institute of Corrections does not provide direct assistance to offenders and ex-offenders.  Our primary audience is corrections professionals.  To see the training that we provide to corrections professionals in the area of offender employment, please go to www.nicic.gov/owd.

My husband teaches convicts how to use a CNC router and computer generated engraver and I have spent the better part of Sunday afternoon looking for grant money to help ex-offenders set up a shop to support themselves and their families by working hard and giving back to society.  I have a degree in Psychology and have been a Hurricane Adjuster so I am no dummy when it comes to looking for something on the internet or using a computer program.  Please contact me with info to help his college students re-enter and stay gainfully employed.  Sincerely pkcolley@sbcglobal.net
