The National Institute of Corrections' Research and Evaluation Division is soliciting applications for a project to explore more awareness and involvement in conservation and environmental efforts by the field of corrections.  Through a cooperative agreement, the selected applicant would prepare a 45-50 page report on that topic during an 8-month project period.  The white paper would explore 1) 'green collar' job readiness programs for offenders; 2) environmentally-friendly prison industries, and 3) self-sustaining corrections facilities.  Applications are due June 19, 2009.  The full solicitation is attached to this blog and is posted on Grants.gov.  To learn more about application and selection procedures, application forms, and guidelines, link to the NIC Cooperative Agreements webpage.
