The National Institute of Corrections' Research and Evaluation Division is soliciting applications for a project to explore more awareness and involvement in conservation and environmental efforts by the field of corrections. Through a cooperative agreement, the selected applicant would prepare a 45-50 page report on that topic during an 8-month project period. The white paper would explore 1) 'green collar' job readiness programs for offenders; 2) environmentally-friendly prison industries, and 3) self-sustaining corrections facilities. Applications are due June 19, 2009. The full solicitation is attached to this blog and is posted on Grants.gov.
