There is still time to apply for the Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP) through the Office of Justice Programs' Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA).  They fund up to 50 percent of the cost for vests that are purchased or replaced.  Sheriff deputies, police officers, correctional officers, parole and probation officers, prosecutors, and judicial officials are all eligible. The online application is due by 5:00 pm (Eastern Time) on April 30, 2007.
