In recognition of the need for executives and supervisors to have a clear and purposeful understanding of the tasks, responsibilities and collaborative nature of their positions, the National Institute of Corrections Academy and Special Projects Divisions have developed competencies for distinct levels of leadership. Specific competencies are presented for Executive and Senior-Level Leaders and for those in Managerial and Supervisory capacities. These documents are an indispensable resource for identifying and developing self-awareness, interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, problem solving, decision-making, and team building. They are available in hard copy, at no cost, from the National Institute of Corrections Information Center by using the below links.

FREE: Order Correctional Leadership Competencies for the 21st Century: Manager & Supervisor

FREE: Order Correctional Leadership Competencies for the 21st Century: Executive & Senior
