2005 National Survey on Drug Use & Health. This survey by the
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services,
Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration,
Office of Applied Studies collects and analyzes data on the general U.S. civilian population to measure patterns and consequences of the use and abuse of illicit drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. This survey also examines the linkage between substance use/abuse and serious psychological distress (SPD) and major depressive episodes (MDE).
